Red Rocks!

Okay, so we now have a satellite orbiting around Mars, which is 100 million kilometers away, that can transmit 6 megabits per seconds back to Earth.

...and I still can't decent broadband where I live?

'kay.

No wonder, 'though, why MRO needs that data rate. It's expected to generate 34 terabits of data.

A Ridiculous Amount of Silence

Okay, so... New year, new dog, cable project essentially done, a birthday, new domains and a room full of crap.

New Year
Happy, happy. An election year! Time to kick out some elephants.

New Dog
Ladies and gentlemen, River Dunn. Black labradour mix. Adorable.

New Cables
So after years of planning, scraping those plans and getting new ones, it is done. Most rooms in the house now have a telephone jack (RJ-11), an Ethernet jack (RJ-45) and a TV coax connection (RG-6). Everything is in the walls and the walls do not have visible holes in them. Things I've learned: bring a mask because attics are dusty, how to cut a hole into drywall and patch it up again, houses made in the 1980's suck, the T568A standard for CAT5 RJ-45 Ethernet cable.

New Birthday
33. Whoop-de-freakin-do.

New Domains
chrisdunn.us and another one (I'm not tellin') done through these guys. Why? Because they were there.
